Melissa Wyse

Melissa Wyse is an essayist, cultural critic, and fiction writer. Her work has appeared in publications including The Rumpus, Shenandoah, Urbanite, and decomP. She has held fellowships and residencies at the MacDowell Colony, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and Ragdale. Melissa is the recipient of an individual artist Ruby Grant from the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance and the Myra Sklarew Award. She received her MFA from American University. Currently, she serves as the Writer in Residence at Pomfret School, where she is completing a collection of short fiction, Moon Over Sand Island, set in World War II Hawaii.
