Laura Piastaʼs artistic practice considers a variety of naturally-occurring phenomena and matter. Often investigating the way we experience and relate to the natural world, both the production and end forms of her work are guided by the “intelligence” of the materials themselves, whose properties might be understood as at once mundane and magical. Sounding the Ultraviolet traverses across many media, exhibiting Piasta’s recent explorations into acoustic absorption, sound, magnetism, and marbling (among other things), and will include the launch of a limited edition bookwork.
