Michael Dango

Michael Dango is an associate professor of English at Rice University, where he is affiliated with the Center for the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality. He is the author of Crisis Style: The Aesthetics of Repair (Stanford University Press, 2021) and the 33 1/3 volume on Madonna's Erotica (Bloomsbury, 2023). His current research, exploring how contemporary art visualizes structures of sexual violence, has appeared in academic and para-academic venues including Public Books, Los Angeles Review of Books, PMLA, differences, Signs, and Artforum.
