Glenn Ligon and Simon Grant

Glenn Ligon is a New York-based artist. A mid-career retrospective of his work at the Whitney Museum of American Art opened in 2011 and traveled nationally. Ligon has also been the subject of solo exhibitions at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the Studio Museum in Harlem, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, and the Kunstverein Munich, and participated in major group exhibitions such as the Berlin Biennal, Istanbul Biennal, Documenta XI, the Venice Biennale, and the Whitney Biennial. Current and forthcoming shows include a curatorial project organized with Nottingham Contemporary and Tate Liverpool, and the 2015 Venice Biennale. //// Simon Grant is editor of Tate Etc.
